I tried to put my kids to bed early tonight. Aubrey starts her new school in MS tomorrow and I wanted her to be well-rested. But Shuggie (my Momma) is here to see the new house, so the girls couldn’t resist getting up a few times to ask for water, and whatnot just to delay bedtime a bit.
After putting them back in bed for the third time, I was consoling a crying Emma, while Aubrey laid in her bed quietly. I kissed Emma and finally calmed her down and made my way to Aubrey’s bed. Her sheet was hanging off the foot of the bed and her comforter was about to fall off the side, so I whipped the covers off of her to remake her bed with her in it.
That’s when I saw it. A bulge in her panties that looked like she was wearing athletic support…
Me: What the heck…(I pulled her underwear down to see that she had hidden a yo-yo in her panties in hopes of keeping it from being confiscated due to our No Toys in the Bed at Bedtime rule.)
Aubrey was laughing hysterically as I took her yo-yo and several other toys she had hidden under the covers. (But thankfully NOT in her underpants.) She continued to cackle, so I had to ask, “Aubrey what else do you have in there?”
“Nothing!” She screamed, barely breathing she was laughing so hard, “Just my butt-hole!”
I had to leave the room before I laughed in her face and returned a few minutes later and told her sternly, “That’s not a very nice word.”
